1. Introduction

Welcome to TempMailGuru ("we", "us", "our"). TempMailGuru provides disposable (temporary) email addresses so you can protect your real inbox from spam, tracking, and data breaches. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using https://tempmailguru.com/ (the "Service"), you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information you provide

• Account information: If you create an account, we collect your email address and password (stored in hashed form) and your name if you provide it.
• Custom domains: If you add your own domain to the Service, we store the domain name and the DNS verification records needed to confirm ownership.
• Support messages: If you email us, we keep your message and email address so we can reply.
• Payment information: If you buy a paid plan, payment is handled by our third-party payment processors. We do not see or store your full card number. We receive limited details such as your plan, payment status, and transaction ID.

2.2 Temporary mailbox content

• We process emails that arrive at your temporary addresses (sender, subject, body, and attachments) only so we can display them to you.
• Temporary emails are automatically deleted after a limited retention period. Once deleted, they cannot be recovered.
• We do not read your emails, sell them, or use their contents for advertising.

2.3 Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages visited, referring pages, and timestamps.
• Cookies and similar technologies: See Section 6.
• Security and abuse logs: We keep limited logs to detect spam, fraud, and abuse of the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including receiving and displaying your temporary emails.
• Create and manage your account and process payments.
• Verify ownership of custom domains.
• Prevent spam, fraud, abuse, and illegal activity, and keep the Service secure.
• Analyze usage and improve the Service.
• Show advertising that supports the free version of the Service.
• Respond to your questions and send important service notices.
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Bases (EEA, UK and similar regions)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process personal data based on: performance of a contract (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improving the Service), your consent (for non-essential cookies and personalized ads, where required), and legal obligations.

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in these cases:

• Service providers: Trusted vendors that help us run the Service, such as hosting and infrastructure providers, content delivery and security providers (for example, Cloudflare), file storage, and payment processors (for example, Stripe, PayPal, or Paddle).
• Advertising partners: Third-party ad networks that may show ads on the Service and use cookies or similar technologies (see Section 6).
• Legal reasons: If required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of TempMailGuru, our users, or the public.
• Business transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

6. Cookies and Advertising

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

• Keep you signed in and remember your temporary mailbox and preferences.
• Understand how the Service is used (analytics).
• Serve advertisements.

Third-party advertisers, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalized advertising at https://www.google.com/settings/ads or https://www.aboutads.info. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how the Service works.

7. Data Retention

• Temporary emails: Deleted automatically after the retention period shown in the Service.
• Account data: Kept while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable time, except where we must keep it for legal, tax, or security reasons.
• Logs: Kept only as long as needed for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting.

8. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Important: Temporary email is public-facing by nature. Anyone who knows or guesses a temporary address may be able to read its messages. Do not use TempMailGuru for sensitive accounts such as banking, healthcare, government services, or anything you need to recover long-term. Never receive confidential information through a temporary address.
